I am a Helsinki-based architect and photographer exploring how architecture is perceived, inhabited and remembered. My work is driven by a simple question: how can a photograph preserve the experience of being present in a space?
My professional background includes designing key architectural elements and public spaces for some of Finland’s most prominent contemporary landmarks, including the National Museum of Finland extension and the Tampere Football Stadium. This experience gives me an inside understanding of architectural intent and the processes through which ideas become built reality.
My perspective is also shaped by two decades in competitive breaking. Through rhythm, movement and physical awareness, I developed a sensitivity to how people navigate and experience space. Whether working in photography or cinematography, I am interested not only in architecture as an object, but in the moment it is encountered — where light, scale, material and human presence come together as lived experience.
Rather than documenting buildings, I seek to record acts of perception. My images aim to convey the feeling of noticing a place: the fleeting moment when architecture becomes present and the observer becomes aware of their own experience within it.
My work has shaped the visual identity of two consecutive Finlandia Prize for Architecture winners — the Martta Wendelin Daycare Centre (2023) and Tampere Football Stadium (2024) — and has been published internationally in The Financial Times, ArchDaily, Dezeen, Designboom, Detail Magazine and Helsingin Sanomat.
